Rethinking Lactose Intolerance

A common human experience.

Lactose intolerance is far more common than most people realize. In fact, it is actually the most common food intolerance, affecting millions of people across the globe. Despite this, lactose intolerance still remains widely misunderstood. It’s time to shift the conversation and acknowledge lactose intolerance for what it truly is: a normal, natural and shared human experience.

Why It Matters

Recognizing the impact is the first step towards change.

When lactose intolerance is overlooked, it leads to real-world consequences such as limited food options, misinformation, and public health disparities. Millions of people, especially in communities of color, are affected by polices and systems that favor dairy without considering the broader population.

We’re a passionate, community-driven nonprofit on a mission to change the way people think about lactose intolerance. We’re here to raise awareness, spark conversations, and help everyone feel confident in owning their dietary health.

We believe no one should feel ashamed, “weak,” or less-than because of how their body processes dairy. Whether you avoid lactose completely, manage it with care, or support someone who does, we’re all about empowering individuals to make informed decisions that work for their unique lives.
